UPDATE: Watch a behind-the-scenes interview with John today

Described as a charismatic, energetic, caring and ever-optimistic, it is no surprise that broker and owner John Kersten has integrated the Easter Seals charity into the culture of his company, Century 21 Town and Country of Utica, Michigan, for the last two decades. John has led hundreds of agents in volunteer efforts to support the organization’s mission.

Today, John is being honored at the Century 21 International Convention with a Lifetime Achievement Award for Philanthropy.

Century 21 Town & Country has raised over $10 million to Easter Seals through multiple types of events including car raffles, poinsettia sales and other special events, in the past two decades. Century 21 Real Estate LLC has raised $1.8 million through its franchise system in 2010, and has raised nearly $102 million in funds for Easter Seals, its sole philanthropic partner since 1979.

John was also recognized by Easter Seals at a ceremony in May 2010 for being the number one fundraiser for more than a decade. In addition, he received the Easter Seals National Corporate Philanthropist of the Year Award in 2002 and was named President of the Century 21 Easter Seals Blue Ribbon Committee Initiative in 2005.
